The Hound softball team escalated its early season run of dominance with a 17-1 thrashing of winless Cameron Tuesday night.
Maryville jumped out to a 6-0 in the first inning, added two in the second, three in the third and polished off the Dragons with a six-run fourth.
The Hounds finished with 10 hits and were on the receiving end of five Cameron errors. Taylor Gadbois went 2-4 with a triple. Winning pitcher Holly Wilmarth went 2-3 and drove in two runs. Baylee Scarbrough was 2-4 with two RBIs.
Mataya Wooten had a double and drove in two runs. Mikaila Wallace also had two RBIs.
Wilmarth (2-0) gave up just three hits and one run in four innings.
Maryville (4-0) returns home today to take on Lafayette at 4:30 p.m.
