Northwest Missouri State Assistant Director of Athletics Dr. Sue Reinders will become the new Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator at the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas.

Reinders has been a member of the Northwest Athletics Department since the fall of 2005 and has served as compliance coordinator for the Bearcats’ 16 sports programs.

"Dr. Reinders is a very competent and effective administrator who has served Northwest well,” said Northwest Director of Athletics Dr. Bob Boerigter. “We thank her for her service and we want to wish her the very best in this new professional opportunity.”

Reinders, a native of Omaha, Neb., and a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, was named National NAIA Athletic Administrator of the Year as the Athletic Director at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan. She spent three years at Saint Mary and nearly seven as the Associate A.D./S.W.A. at Minnesota State Mankato before arriving in Maryville.

Reinders earned her master’s degree from Emporia State University in 1991 and received her doctorate at the University of Iowa in 1995.

"I've certainly enjoyed my time as a Bearcat," said Reinders. “Athletics is an exciting part of my life and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with the coaches and student-athletes at Northwest.”

Reinders official duties at UTPA will begin in August.
