Corning, IOWA -

It was a month of June all rolled into one night as the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series got in its fourth show of the season at the Adams County Speedway.

The Cellular 29 Plus/Lyrix Wireless kid’s money grab that was supposed to start the month finally got rescheduled and the night ended with a beautiful fireworks display. The much anticipated action on the track was simply amazing with Paul Glendenning, Jeremy Tibben, Greg Miller and Matt Hudson taking the victories.

Trent Jackson started on the pole of the Whelen late model feature and shot to the lead and looked unstoppable as he opened up a big lead. At a mid-race caution waved for Chris Spieker’s mechanical woes, Jackson had to duck into the pits with a flat tire. This handed the lead battle to Leon Zeitner and Glendenning who had been battling for second. That pair swapped lanes and the lead over the next several laps until Glendenning pulled to a small advantage. In the closing laps, Jackson had worked back through traffic and came to second and set sights on Glendenning. As Glendenning took the checkered for his first win of the season, Jackson was right on his bumper for second. Zeitner finished third with Todd McKee and Justin Zeitner rounding out the top five.

Alison Quick and Chris Hogan swapped the early lead in the Budweiser modified feature with Hogan winning out in that battle. Hogan led until lap seven when10th-starting Tibben flew by and into the lead. Late in the race, Jeff James and Dean Mahlstedt came to second and third but no one had anything to challenge Tibben as he picked up his first win of the season. James, Mahlstedt, Hogan and Ryan Peckham rounded out the top five.

Ron Ballinger claimed the early lead in the Northland Oil pro street feature but his lead would not last as mechanical problems ended his night on lap three. Craig Garner took over from there and led a pack of three and four-wide racing as A.J. Miller, Steve Churchill, Jeff Orr and Miller battled for the second spot. Miller ended the exciting battle by launching off the bottom side of the track to take the lead from Garner. Steve Churchill gave a great fight to try to take the lead from Miller but it was not to be as the elder Miller claimed his first victory of the year over Churchill, Garner, Orr and A.J. Miller.

Jesse Sobbing shot to the early lead in the NAPA hobby stock feature with Jeremy Auten being the first to try to pressure him for the lead. Seventeenth-starting Matt Williamson offered the next challenge to Sobbing but could not get the job done. Late in the race Hudson showed up at the front of the pack and pulled up behind Sobbing with a lap to go. The pair raced side-by-side into turn three and rubbed as they headed to the checkered. Hudson pulled ahead to take his third win with Sobbing, Williamson, Auten and Brad Derry rounding out the top five.
