Ever-changing track conditions made for a difficult but exciting night of racing on Saturday night at the Adams County Speedway as "Game Show Night" was presented by Red Oak Chrysler and Glendenning Motors.

The night started off with the KMA Pro Streets taking to the big half-mile as the 1J of Jerry Parker picked up his first victory of the season. Parker edged out Clarinda's Craig Garner who continues to run well by finishing in second spot.

Greg Miller was the point's leader heading into the night and the seven-time track champion had some major trouble to start the race. Miller was involved in a turn-two incident on lap number two that sent him, his son A.J. and Joe Zadina to the back of the pack. From there, the 83-car stormed to the front of the field to grab a third-place finish. Glenn Orr and Kevin Sharp rounded out the top five.

The Chat Mobility Hobby Stocks were the second class to hit the track and Creston's very own defending track champion, Matt Williamson, picked up his second victory of the season. The packed ACS crowd went wild as an animated Williamson jumped out of his hot-rod after winning from the pole position. Clarinda's Jeremy Auten came in second place with Kevin Yearington taking third. Point's leader Trent Davison snagged the fourth spot while Robert Hague placed fifth after starting in the 19th position. Former track champion Jim Tull made his first appearance of the season at ACS and came home with a very respectable eighth place finish.

As the track got dryer, the cars got faster with the Poet Biorefining Modifieds. J.C. Wyman owned the top side of the race track to hold off two-time feature winner Jared Steins.

"I don't know how we did it," Wyman said to track announcer Steve Cabbage after the race. "It just worked. Jared set the car up right."

The win was Wyman's second of the season in his new-look Razor chassis. Making the win even more impressive was the fact that Wyman won from the 10th starting position during difficult racing conditions. Todd Van Eaton finished with a solid third-place finish as Jeremy Tibben and Derrick Hicks took fourth and fifth.

The Barker Implement Late Models hit the racetrack last and at the beginning, it appeared to be Justin Zietner's night. That is until a restart with eight laps to go. Last year's ACS Driver of the Year Paul Glendenning, who started on the outside of the front row, took the lead going into turn four of the restart when Zeitner spun out of control giving the driver of the 33-machine the lead that he would never give up.

"He (Zeitner) had us until that caution," Glendenning said. "There was a tick of moisture down there and we got a little bite."

The win was Glendenning's first of the 2009 season.

Be sure to get to the racetrack early next Saturday night as the stars and cars of the MLRA and NCRA touring late model series' will be on hand competing for a $3,000 grand prize. The Adams County Speedway is expecting anywhere from 50-60 late models to be on hand including some of the best that the Midwest has to offer.

In addition to the MLRA/NCRA late models, the Chat Mobility Hobby Stocks, the KMA Pro Streets and the Poet Biorefining Modifieds will all be in action as well.

n addition to the awesome racing, the Adams County Fair and Racing Association will present fireworks after the show. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for teens 13-17. Children 12 and under get in for FREE. Pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m. grandstands at 5 p.m.
