After four years of playing high school ball together, Tyler Oglesby and Tanner Archer are getting the opportunity one more time.
Oglesby and Archer were selected to the 32nd Annual Missouri Lions All-Star Football Game. Both will play for the West in an East vs. West match up at 7:30 p.m. on July 26 at Walton Stadium on the University of Central Missouri campus in Warrensburg.
Oglesby (linebacker) and Archer (safety) helped lead Maryville High School to a Midland Empire Conference title in their senior season. Both plan to attend Northwest Missouri State next fall. While there Oglesby don football gear once again when he suits up for the Bearcats.
The Lions All-Star football game was created in order to benefit the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation a release said. It has raised more than $180,000 for the project.
The game pits some of the top football talent from around the state to play one last game with and against their peers before entering the world.
Trenton High School coach Wes Croy will head the West team, while Moberly's Jason Ambroson will run the East squad.
Players and coaches will arrive at Central on July 20. There they'll spend a week practicing and getting to know their teammates and coaches before a banquet Friday evening.
The game will be broadcast live on www.prepcasts.com and on KKWK (100.1 FM) Radio in Cameron.
"The Lions of Missouri Invite you to come enjoy one of the best high school football games you will ever see," the release said.
