The 14 and under Trojanettes competed in the state tuneup tournament June 21-22 at Adair Park in Kansas City. The team played in the 16 and under division and finished with a 6-2 record to finish in 2nd place.
Game 1 was a 4-0 win over the Bellevue Ne. Shockers. Cheyanne Stoll threw a two hitter to get the win. Leading the hitting with one hit each were Kendle Schieber, Torri Blythe, Brooke Wolf, Shelby Pusateri, Holly Wilmarth, Ashley Smith, and Stoll.
Game 2 was a 6-1 win over the Gower Diamond Dawgs. Wilmarth threw a no hitter to get the win. Baylee Scarbrough led the hitting with two singles. Wolf added a double. Collecting one hit were Kendra Holaday, and Blythe.
Game 3 was 5-0 win over the Kansas City Blazers. Kendle Schieber after allowing a single to start the game retired the next 19 batters before allowing a hit to finish with a two hitter. Wolf led the hitting with two doubles. Blythe added two singles and Allie Meyer had a single.
Game 4 knocked the Trojanettes into the losers bracket.The Neosho Flames defeated the Trojanettes 4-1. Meyer led the hitting with a double and single. Blythe, Stoll, and Smith added singles.
Game 5 started the trip thru the losers bracket with a 9-1 win over the Kansas City Frozen Ropes. Stoll was the winning pitcher. Wilmarth led the hitting parade with two hits. Scarbrough added a double. Collecting singles were Emilee Buckler, Kylee Wiederholt, Blythe, Wolf, and Smith.
Game 6 was a 2-1 extra inning win over the Tipton Tigers. Schieber was the winning pitcher. Scarbrough led the hitting again with a double. Adding singles were Blythe, Wolf, Buckler, Wiederholt, and Smith.
Game 7 was another close game with the Trojanettes coming out on top 1-0. Schieber was the winning pitcher. Scarbrough led the hitting with two singles. Adding one hit each were Schieber, Blythe, Wolf, Buckler, Pusateri, Wilmarth, and Stoll.
Game 8 was for the championship against the Neosho Flames. In one of the more exciting games of softball you will see the Flames won in extra innings 4-3. Buckler led the hitting with two hits. Pusateri had a two RBI triple. Schieber and Wilmarth added doubles. Collecting singles were Meyer and Blythe.
The team is now 31-13 on the season and will compete at the ASA 14 and under A state at Sedalia this weekend
