Betty Jean Holbrook, 83, of Maryville, Mo. passed away, Monday, June 8, 2009 at Gol­d­en Living Center, Maryville.

She was born March 29, 1926 in Maryville, the daughter of Walter James and Stella Mae (Sumner) Hayden. Betty graduated from Quitman High School, Quitman, Mo. and married Lowell Dean Holbrook on Dec. 26, 1946 in Atchison, Kan.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #441, Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Betty had been a school cook at T J School, Council Bluffs, Iowa for 25 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Charles and Curtis Hayden and sisters: Velma McGinness, Maysel Garrett, Elizabeth Dowden, Lucile Leeson, Ruth Rickman and Grace Pierpoint.

Survivors include her husband: Lowell Holbrook, of their home; son: Michael Holbrook, Kansas City, Mo.; grandsons: Shaun Holbrook, Kansas City and Travis Holbrook, Maryville; a step-grandson: Richard Doyle; great-granddaughter: Maddison Doyle; a sister: Ruby Ballenger, Maryville; and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 6-7 p.m. at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Price Funeral Home.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Price Funeral Home Chapel. 
Burial will be in Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Maryville.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Maryville, or Alzheimer Association, Northwest Missouri Chapter in Betty's name.
