Alfred Junior Sharp, 83, Burlington Junction, Mo. died on Monday, June 1, 2009, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Mo.
Born Nov. 19, 1925 in Graham, Mo., he was the son of the late William Ira and Jennie Irene Lininger Sharp.
He was a veteran of the Korean conflict.
On Nov. 10, 1965, Junior married his first wife Elsie Mae Mawdsley in Rock Port, Mo. She passed away Dec. 20, 1977. On Feb. 24, 1978, he married Iva Lou Dilley Wymore in Oregon, Mo. She passed away Oct. 21, 2008.
Junior was retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Surviving are son Martin (Coleen) Sharp, Elmo, Mo.; daughter Jennifer Sharp, New Market, Iowa; step-sons: Jim Wymore, St. Joseph, Mo. and Bill Wymore, Keg River, Canada; three grandchildren: Brett Denney, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kayla Wymore, St. Joseph and Jennifer Wymore, Keg River.
A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, Mo.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4 also at Price Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, Mo. with graveside military services conducted by the Rolla-Dicks American Legion Post #315, Burlington Junction.
Memorials may be given to the Nodaway County Senior Center for "Meals on Wheels."
