Geneva Kathryn McAmis, 95, Maryville, Mo., passed away June 30, 2009 at Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.
Geneva was born on July 16, 1913, in Bedford, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ira C. and Kathryn (Pringle) Thompson. A 1932 graduate of the New Market High School, New Market, Iowa and she married Robert Johnson McAmis on Nov. 4, 1933 in Maryville.
Mrs. McAmis was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville, the Bloomfield Club and the Union Homemakers Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on Dec. 19, 1998; her parents, a sister, Maxine Baker and a brother, Keith Thompson.
Survivors include her children and their spouses: Robert Dean and Sharon McAmis, Berryton, Kan. and Geraldine and Marvin Sumy, Skidmore, Mo.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren and two nephews Paul Thompson, Baton Rouge, La., and Harold Thompson, Tulsa, Okla.
Visitation is anytime at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, at Price Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Maryville.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church or charity of the donor's choice in Geneva's name.
