Richard Dredge, 72, Maryville, Mo., died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his home.
Richard was born Aug. 14, 1936 in Maryville, the son of Harlan Richard and Zenola Ruth (Fleenor) Dredge. A 1954 graduate of Horace Mann High School, Maryville, he married Maxine Lavaughn Griffey, Oct. 7, 1955 in Maryville.
Mr. Dredge was a member of the Eagle's Lodge, Aerie #3669, Maryville. He retired from United Services of Maryville, as a lineman.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Lavaughn on March 3, 2009; his parents; a sister: Marsha Jean Dredge; granddaughter: Correne Welch; great-granddaughter: May Nichole Leffert and great-grandson: David Teague.
Survivors include his children and their spouses: Linda (Ed) Welch, Maryville; John Dredge, St. Joseph, Mo.; Steve (Barbara) Dredge, Camdenton, Mo.; Mark Dredge, Maryville; Sandi (Kevin) Kline, Maryville; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his step-mother: Dorothy Dredge, Maryville; seven sisters: Shirley Baker, Maryville; Jeanne Morrison, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Lynn Beason and Kathi Ridenour, Maryville; Darlene Close, Big Lake, Minn.; Jacque Hunter, Papillion, Neb. and Marla Heeler, St. Joseph, Mo. and two brothers: David Dredge, Maryville, and Ron Peterson, Tucson, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Funeral services 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.
Burial is in Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Richard's name.
