On Aug. 25 farmers can hear about the latest research and get updates on topics ranging from aquaculture to fertilizing techniques during a University of Missouri Extension field day at the Hundley-Whaley Research Center in Albany.
Four tours will showcase research at the farm and allow attendees to learn about new developments from MU specialists.
MU agronomist Kelly Nelson will talk about research on foliar fertilizers and fungicide use in corn. Nelson will also discuss strip tillage during the tours.
"He’s looking at how strip tillage might enhance phosphorous application by putting it right underneath the row," said Bruce Burdick, Hundley-Whaley superintendent. "His focus is spurred by both the economics and environmental benefits in better use of inputs."
