Throughout the past few weeks, a nutritionist from the University of Missouri extension office has visited the school teaching students about the five food groups and healthy eating. Students and teachers finished the curriculum with a feast just before Thanksgiving.
Coincidentally coinciding with the event, students also learned that day from Sgt. Rick Smail from Maryville Public Safety about food safety and when it might not be safe to consume certain substances.
