Though the temperatures outside are sizzling, the sales will be even hotter during the Maryville Sizzling Summer Sidewalk Sales event.
The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce has once again organized the annual retail sidewalk sale for Chamber members.
Chamber Director Luke Reven said nearly 20 Maryville retailers have plans to participate, offering up deals on everything from clothing and apparel to appliances and groceries.
Reven said the goal is not only to offer great deals for local residents but also to help draw new shoppers from as far away as Iowa and Nebraska to local businesses.
"If all the retailers are sharing the same date for a sale or special … the outcome can be greater than the sum of its parts," Reven said. "When everyone shares, the draw is more powerful."
Reven added that there are more businesses set to participate in this year's sales event compared to last year, offering up even more deals for customers.
Participating businesses include:Walgreens, Sears, Rapid Refill, Orschely Farm and Home, Northwest Missouri Cellular, Maryville Tools, Maurices, Jock's Nitch, JC Penney, Hy-Vee, Hineline Furniture and Flooring, Herbs N Whey, Carpet Plus Bargain Barn, Bookstop & Antiques, Big Bird's Bait & Bows, Best Brands Plus and much more.
