Nodaway County temperatures reached a record high of 66 Monday, according to the National Weather service, slightly bettering the old mark of 63 degrees set in 1992. The average high temperature on Jan. 30 is 34 degrees.
Clear skies and a springlike afternoon had parents, children and young people scurrying to local parks and playgrounds during the mildest day of one of the mildest northwest Missouri winters in years. Unseasonably warm weather was to continue through Thursday with highs in the mid- to upper-50s before anticipated showers move in on Friday.
While the extended forecast is a little more winter-like, it looks like snow shovels will remain unused for at least the next several days with clear skies and highs in the 30s to low 40s predicted through Feb. 9.
