Maryville, Mo. -

Law enforcement officials are investigating two thefts north of Elmo this week.

Nodaway County Sheriff Ben Espey said Thursday that diesel gasoline was stolen from a truck’s gas tank Tuesday night in the Elmo area.

He said the truck’s window was also broken

On Wednesday, a hood of a pickup truck was then stolen from a property located on U.S. 71 Highway, also near Elmo.

“There was a string of burglaries this week and so we’re putting about two deputies out there to investigate,” Espey said. “If any resident sees anything suspicious, we’d like for them to contact us.”

To contact the sheriff’s office, call (660) 582-7451. For emergencies, use 911.
