Northwest Missouri State University student Britnee Baldridge, found dead Monday, was reported to have died of natural causes according to the preliminary autoposy, said Northwest authorities.  She was found dead in her West Tower Suites residence hall about 2 p.m. The University Police Department was notified and officers responded immediately to the scene.  Baldridge was a third year student majoring in Family and Consumer Science.
A preliminary autopsy was performed Tuesday morning at the Jackson County Medical Office, said Clarence Green, Director of the Northwest Missouri State University Police Department.
In an email sent Tuesday to the Maryville Daily Forum Tuesday by Johnnie Baldridge, Britnee's brother, it stated, "Cause of death has been determined to be an epileptic seizure while she slept, followed by suffocation from pillows/bedding."
In addition, the Baldridge family wrote the funeral service has been changed to Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 614 Brookside Ave., Independence, Mo.  64053. The exact time has not been determined.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation in Britnee's name at www.epilepsyfoundation.org.  Paper cards and e-Cards will be sent to the family.
The room where Baldridge was found has been closed off for the investigation, Green said.
She did have roommates at the West Tower Suites residence hall.
“The students are doing as well as possible,” said Vice President of Student Affairs, Jacquelyn Elliott.  “We had a session at 9 p.m. last night with 90 students,” she said. “They were talking, trying to deal with their grief, sharing memories.  There was laughter and tears; there was a lot of sharing.”
Students and members of the university community who feel the need for counseling services should contact Personal and Development Counseling at 562-1220.
The Maryville Daily Forum will continue to bring updates on information regarding the death and further announcements of funeral or memorial arrangements. Check online at www.maryvilledailyforum.com.
