From an inflatable obstacle course and jump house to table carnival games and Bingo, Sunday will be filled with fun for the entire family.
Everyone is welcome to attend St. Gregory's Family Fun Festival –– an annual fundraiser sponsored by St. Gregory's Parent Teacher Organization –– which is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21. The PTO hopes to raise between $10,000 and $15,000 this year at the festival.
"Our annual Family Fun Festival is a way to bring our Catholic community, as well as the wider community, together to support our school," St. Gregory's Principal Susan Martin said. "Other community members help to support us –– we get a lot of donation from businesses around the community."
Tickets and wristbands are necessary for games and to purchase food items. The tickets can be purchased at St. Gregory's School at the discounted price of five for $1 until 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 19, or four for $1 on the day of the festival. Wristbands allow unlimited use of the inflatable activities. They can be purchased in advance for $8 –– $10 the day of the festival.
New to the festival this year is a Guitar Hero tournament in the school gym. There will be two sessions –– from 12 to 1:30 p.m. and from 2 to 3 p.m. Each session will have two groups for competition –– one for ages 12 and under and the other for ages 13 and up. Cost to enter the contest is four tickets. Prizes will be $10 per group for each session. Winners will be based on total points and can they can not enter additional sessions.
Martin said the festival is only a part of the fun-filled day. Also included will be the annual mum sale, lunch in the gym and a silent auction.
Nearly 100 Mums –– yellows, bronzes, reds and purples –– in two-gallon pots, are available for sale, not only at the festival, but from now until they're gone. The mums, priced at $12 each or two for $20, are on display outside St. Gregory's Catholic Church.
A Silent Auction will take place in the school gym . Some of the auction offerings will be a complete orthodontic package from Dr. Lisa Parker, valued at $4,000; a year of free movies from the Hangar, valued at $500; various Northwest Missouri State University summer sports camps, including baseball, football, volleyball, tennis and soccer; homemade food and craft items.
NWMSU Encore Performance tickets; massages; Manicures; various gift certificates to Maryville area businesses and numerous gift baskets –– designed by St. Gregory's classes pre-kindergarten through eighth grade –– with values up to $300. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. in the school gym. Food will be available throughout the festival –– hamburgers, hotdogs, funnel cakes and much more.
