Teamwork between Maryville Public Safety officers and deputies with the Nodaway County Sheriff's Department resulted in the arrest of two suspects early Saturday following a motor vehicle chase through the heart of town.
No serious injuries were reported, but there was some seriously twisted metal.
A county patrol car driven by Deputy Vince Lippencott was rear-ended by the suspect's white 2000 Pontiac Sunfire near the municipal street maintenance facility at 123 N. Newton. A few minutes later, close to a north Maryville mobile home park on Jade Road, the suspect's car rolled over after the driver allegedly tried to back it into a police vehicle.
Arrested following the chase were the Pontiac's driver, Ryan Dean Hendrix, 34, and his passenger, Charles Baxter Boeh, 29, both of St. Joseph. Both men remained in custody Monday for alleged parole violations. In addition, Hendrix, who is charged with second-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, was being held in lieu of $100,000 bond...
