Northwest Missouri State University has announced the hiring of Larry Lee to serve as director of business development and tenant relations for the school's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Lee, who will begin his new duties Feb. 1, will be responsible for recruiting, tenant relations and overall administration at the CIE, a technology-based business incubator and academic facility.

"We are pleased to welcome Larry and know his entrepreneurial expertise, breadth of relationships, knowledge of incubator needs and overall approach focused on the academic enterprise and client management will benefit Northwest and those that we serve," said Northwest President John Jasinski.

According to a Northwest release, Lee has served since 2008 as director of technology development and commercialization for the Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Center at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

He was an adjunct professor at Northwest from 1996 to 2001 as well as director of the university's Missouri Small Business Development Center office in St. Joseph from 1994 to 1996.

A Northwest alumnus, he holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's in business administration from the university.

"Northwest has a world-class, state-of-the-art facility and incubation program that may be the best kept secret in the Midwest," Lee said.
