What happens when the Mentor becomes the one being mentored? This is what happens in “Meet Bill” as a down-on-his-luck bank VP turns to a rebellious teen to turn his life around.

“Meet Bill” is a witty look into the life of a man whom hasn’t found his true calling in life.
Bill (Aaran Eckhart) is a bank VP in Human Relations working for his father-in-law.

Also, he has has just found out that his wife, Jess (Elizabeth Banks), is sleeping with the local news anchor. (Timothy Olyphant) During a trip to his old high school for his work he is brought into the mentoring program where he meets “the kid.” (Logan Lerman)

The kid takes Bill on a journey to self-discovery, showing him the way to becoming the man he wants to.

The kid shows Bill what life could be like if he would just stand up for himself. He teaches Bill that he should set his goals and let nothing stand in the way. In the end, this will set Bill free.

To be honest, I only picked up this film because Aaron Eckhart was in the movie. He has quickly become an actor who,s films I seek out. He is just incredible with his character development. In this film, he takes it to a new level. His characterization of Bill is sweet and tragic. You quickly fall in love with him and root for him to make it above his situation.

Another performance that stood out was the performance of Logan Lerman as the kid. He gives the character a “Ferris Bueller” like quality where anything is possible. He is a talent that should be watched for in the future.

The storyline about Bill and his trial and tribulations is magical. Though it starts out a little slow, you begin to get absorbed into the world of Bill. You see his fall and eventual rebirth as his sense of self-worth breaks him out of his shell.

Filled with great acting and a moving storyline, “Meet Bill” is a movie I would recommend. Not for all audiences because of the adult situations, language, and drug use. Take a chance and go “Meet Bill,” you won’t be disappointed.
