The Hounds played back to back victorious games these past two days.
Monday evening playing in heavy rain and wind, the Hounds defeated Maur Hill in a make- up game that was a wonderful display of teamwork and passing. Maur Hill scored the first goal in the 4th minute, but soon after the Hounds took charge and commanded the field.
Goals scored were by:
Danner Jacobsen, assisted by Michael Filips in the 53rd minute
Zach Brod, unassisted in the 54th minute

The JV team playing under even worse conditions was also victorious with two goals scored by Amani Kegode and Josh Barmann.
Tuesday evening the Hounds were faced with very cold temperatures, but that did not stop them. They beat KC Northeast by 10-0. They controlled most of the game and the team members communicated well and passed each other the ball so that everyone had an opportunity to score. As some of the spectators have said, “There has never been such a selfish display of teamwork. It is refreshing to watch.” Goalkeepers Michael Holley and Ethan Calfee both had an easy game with a couple saves each.
Coach Collins said, “I’m really pleased with how the boys are playing right now. They are relaxed in their play and intense in their preparation and that is illustrating the best way to play soccer.” The Hounds play at KC East High School on Thursday.

The Hounds brought victory to Maryville Thursday evening. Undefeated on their turf at Donaldson Park, we got to see the boys in all their glory. The team played a well-executed passing game and communicated well, giving spectators what they have been anxiously awaiting to see. It was an unselfish smartly played game with good control of the ball.
Assistant Coach Ky Hill says, “Tonight the boys came ready to play from the first whistle to the last. They did a great job at keeping the ball down and at their feet to negate the wind today.”
Page 2 of 2 - Midfielder Dimitri Filopoulos passed ball after ball to his teammates in the first twenty minutes of the game and assisted many attempts by sending the ball elegantly into the box.
His and Mitchell Worthington’s foresight, leadership and fancy footwork gave forwards Zac Brod and Danner Jacobson run after run for a chance to score (with 17 shots and 5 corner kicks), which they did fighting against the strong wind. Midfielder Travis Hogue and defender Jacob Liles relentlessly defended everything that came their way while defender Mason Schafer and goalkeeper Michael Holley assisted each other to keep the box clear with 5 saves and allowing only 1 corner kick to the Dragons.
Danner Jacobson scored 2 goals. His first goal in the 8th minute was assisted by Dimitri Filopoulos and the third goal in the 50th minute was assisted by Zac Brod. After witnessing Cameron’s goalkeeper coming out of his box time and time again, Mitchell Worthington played it smart and took his ball carefully into the net and around the goalkeeper to give the Hounds their second goal of the evening in the 12th minute, assisted by defender Michael Filips. The fourth and final goal in the 59th minute was placed beautifully into the net by Zac Brod and assisted by defender Mason Schafer.
The JV team played well again Thursday night fighting the wind the whole time. They defeated the Dragons 1-0 with a wounding header by Keegan Riley. Joseph Suchan playing defense gave spectators some very nice moments and he and Amani Kegode passed a number of balls into the box for forwards Kennon Baker and Josh Barmann. Defenders Michael Holley and Tyler Stoll turned the ball around well whenever it came to their end.
The Hounds play three games next week. Monday’s home game is a make-up game against Maur Hill at 4:00 at Donaldson Park. Tuesday, the Hounds play home again against KC Northeast. Thursday, the Hounds hit the road to play KC East. The Hounds are now 6-9-0.
