The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday and Thursday honored employees at local businesses during Customer Service Week
The national emphasis celebrating effective business practices was established by former President George H.W. Bush in 1992.
Chamber officials presented Customer Service Award plaques to the honorees during brief ceremonies held at their workplaces.
The distinction is intended to recognize workers who "serve and support customers with the highest degree of care and professionalism."
Award recipients could be nominated by either their employers or the customers they serve.
This year's Customer Service Award honorees were:
∙ Cindy Hill, who works in the front office at Snyder Dental.
∙ Sharlet Dumke of Northwest Missouri State University's Campus Dining (Aramark).
∙ Kelly Colwell, RN, who works at both SSM Hospice and the Northwest Missouri State Wellness Center.
∙Jeanie Schmidt and Sheryl Smith of Rogers Home Medical Equipment; and Jon Nickerson of Geist Heating & Air Conditioning.
