We have been fortunate in northwest Missouri to have some outstanding individuals representing us in Jefferson City. That is definitely true in regard to Rep. Mike Thomson.
Rep. Thomson has continually worked to bring people together at the Capitol to solve problems facing public education. As a former educator himself, he has distinguished himself as a person of dignity, high ethical standards and devoted to serving the people who elected him to office.
Recently, Rep. Thomson had to make a difficult decision regarding the tax cut issue that was vetoed by Governor Jay Nixon. As a Republican, I know that he is in favor of reduced taxes, less government bureaucracy and strengthening the business climate in Missouri. At the same time, he is also a very dependable supporter of Missouri public schools, especially the rural schools of this state.
Rep. Thomson believes that education in itself is a tremendous economic development tool. I hope you will join me in thanking Mike Thomson for his unwavering support of Missouri public schools and for his hard work, service and devotion to the citizens of Northwest Missouri.
