Barnard…….Opal Elizabeth Wiglesworth Baxter, 90, died August 29, 2013 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Mozetta Baxter, Barnard, where she had resided the past six and half years.
She was born February 13, 1923, to David Edward and Margaret Lucille (Allcock) Wiglesworth, in Maysville, MO.
Opal graduated from the Maysville High School in 1941. She married James Gilbert Baxter on August 29, 1964. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1979. She had been a member of the Alta Vista Baptist Church of Weatherby, MO, since June 11, 1967.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 4 brothers, 5 sisters, 1 great grandson and 1 great-great grandson.
She is survived by her son, Paul, and daughter, Linda Brocker, McAlester, OK; 2 brothers, Don Wiglesworth, Weatherby, MO, and Marvin Wiglesworth, Cameron, MO; 5 granddaughters, Eleesa Wilmes, (Tim), Barnard; Raeleena Sheeler, Corpus Christi, TX; Kimberly (Don) Hatch, Corpus Christi, TX,; Karin (Joshua) Stower, McAlester, OK; Kristie (Ryan) Winters, Gardner, KS; 11 great-grandchildren, Brandon Wilmes, Barnard; Sierra (Johnny Maize) Smith, Novinger, MO, Tyler, Brooklynn, and Matthew Sheeler, Branson, MO; Aaron (Megan) Portmann, Sioux City, IA, Kyle (Shashanna Valley ) Corpus Christi, TX; Dylan (Teal) Portmann, Knob Noster, MO, Shea and Megan Stowers, McAlester, OK, and Paige Winter, Topeka, KS; and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a god daughter, Wilma Lou (Bobby) Jobson, Buckner, Mo, and many nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Bram-Turner Funeral Home, Maysville with burial at Alta Vista Cemetery, Weatherby.
