The Grand River Mutual telephone company sponsored Darell Hawley, Barnard; Dalton Nelson, Bethany; and Taylor Claypole, Eagleville, this summer during the Foundation for Rural Service's Youth Tour in Washington, D.C.
More than 100 high school students journeyed to the nation's capital for the tour, which featured sessions about various governmental and regulatory processes.
The teens also met with 6th District Congressman Sam Graves and toured the U.S. Capitol, Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery and the World War II Memorial.
High school juniors living in the GRM service area are encouraged to apply for next year's tour. Applications are available from Grand River Mutual business offices and high school guidance counselors.
