On their last official day of school Thursday, Maryville High School soon-to-be graduates gathered in Bearcat Arena at Northwest Missouri State University for the Maryville R-II School District's annual senior recognition and scholarship ceremony.
Members of the class of 2013 received more than 200 scholarships this year, ranging from several hundred to several thousand dollars.
Among the winners were P.E.O. STAR Scholarship recipient Jessica Pfost.
Pfost will attend Boston College in Massachusetts this fall, where she plans to study biology and Spanish.
Also among those recognized Thursday were Andrew Wiederholt and Eric Sigman, who have been accepted into the United States Marine Corps' delayed entry program.
Wiederholt and Sigman were congratulated by Sgt. Brandon Williamson, Marine recruiter for the Maryville area. Both men will depart for recruit training in San Diego, Calif., this fall.
Maryville High School Commencement will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bearcat Arena.
