A Maryville woman suffered minor injuries in a rollover accident late Wednesday morning on Highway 136 three miles east of Conception Junction.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Courtney F. Lovitt, 27, was eastbound in a 1998 Buick sedan when she lost control of the wheel, overcorrected, and careened off the steep south shoulder of the highway. The car came to rest on its top.
Sheriff Darren White, who assisted Trooper Jim Farmer in working the accident, said a young child riding with Lovitt was properly secured in a car seat and escaped serious injury. Lovitt was wearing a seat belt.
Both Lovitt and the toddler were taken by Nodaway County ambulance to St. Francis Hospital & Health Services in Maryville. The car, described as totaled, was towed from the scene.
