Northwest Missouri State University's Celebration show choir will present its annual spring show at 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.
The review, which includes accompaniment by a live nine-piece band, is titled The House is Rockin' and consists of musical numbers spanning the swing and rock 'n' roll eras of popular music. Admission is free
"The Celebration Spring Show is a fantastic event that brings a high level of performance to the campus and community," said Brian Lanier, Celebration director and Northwest associate professor of music.
Comprising students pursuing a wide range of academic degrees, Celebration performs during the fall term as the Madraliers, a chamber ensemble featured each year during Northwest's Yuletide Feaste.
Earlier this year, the Madraliers was one of three college choirs in Missouri selected to perform for the 75th annual Missouri Music Educators Association Conference in Osage Beach.
In 2012, the choir also performed at the American Choral Directors Association Southwest Division Convention in Dallas, Texas.
Both performances were awarded following competitive auditions.
