Maryville Middle School hosted the regional Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics contest last weekend. The contest consisted of 57 students from eight schools.
Eight MMS students participated, four of which will be heading to state.
The seventh-graders that placed in individual events were Irene Hung, second; Delanie Vinzant, third; Jacob Search, fourth; Chad Sullivan, seventh; and Harrison Parkhurst, eighth.
Maryville's eighth-grader Matt Twaddle won the algebra division, and Anzumann Chakraborty took fourth.
Hung, Vinzant, and Twaddle will compete in the individual algebra division at state.
Maryville won the team competition, and Twaddle, Chakraborty, Hung and Vinzant will move on to the state competition as a team to represent the region on April 27.
