A long-running springtime tradition continued at Northwest Missouri State University Friday with the selection by the Blue Key and Cardinal Key honor societies of this year's Tower king and queen.
Tower King Dakota Sullivan is a junior pre-law and political science major from Chariton, Iowa. An AmeriCorps USA alumni, Sullivan is also a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, the Pre-Law Society, Political Science Club and the Pi Sigma Alpha national political honor society.
Tower Queen Jennifer McCoy is a junior organizational communication major from Gower. Her campus affiliations include the Baptist Student Union, Student Senate, Lambda Pi Eta national honor society and Mortar Board. She also serves as a Student Ambassador.
The Tower King and Queen are selected from a group of Northwest students who excel academically and exhibit high levels of involvement both on campus and in the community.
After being nominated by various student organizations, candidates undergo an application and interview process resulting in five king candidates and five queen candidates. The king and queen are then chosen by the student body.
