Maryville's boys golf team finished second in their five-team flight and seventh overall out of 10 teams at the season-opening Show-Me MO Tournament at the Lake of the Ozarks over the weekend.
Scores were based on 18 holes of play Friday and nine more on Saturday.
Conditions for the final round were much tougher due to an overnight rain storm that left standing puddles of water on the course.
The Hounds shot 340 as a team on the first day and finished with a 558.
Their team score would've been lower, but No. 2 golfer Kyle Leslie was disqualified for a scorecard error.
Maryville senior Trey Maughan finished one stroke ahead of Leslie for the team lead and fourth in the tournament with a two-day total of 121. He shot 79 during the opening round of play. Leslie, who totaled a 122, shot an 80 the first day.
Freshman Hunter Hayes shot an 81 in his 18-hole round and 50 over nine holes to finish with a 131. Wade Tobin came in fourth on the Hounds with a 157. Hagen Snow was fifth with a 180.
Both shot in the 100's the first day.
Springfield Catholic posted the lowest score in the tournament with a 449. Second best was Barstow with a 507.
Marshfield took third with a 515. Bolivar and Logan-Rogersville tied for fourth with a 517.
The top individual finisher was Haden Stevens from Bolivar with a 115.
