Although it wasn't a shutout, the Northwest Missouri State women's tennis team earned its 30th straight victory over Missouri Western in dominating fashion, 8-1 Wednesday night.
The Bearcats improved to 5-3 on the season and 2-2 in league play as the Griffons fell to 3-10 and 0-6 in league action. The one streak that was snapped Wednesday was the Bearcats' string of seven straight shutouts of the Griffons.
The Bearcats rolled to a 3-0 lead with wins at all three doubles positions before dominating Missouri Western in singles play.
Camila Quesada improved to 5-2 at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win.
At No. 4 singles, Gisela Font was also impressive taking a 6-2, 6-1 victory for her fourth straight victory.
Impending winter weather has forced postponement of Thursday match against Fort Hays State.
