JOHN ROBERT SHIPLEY

John Robert Shipley, 69, formerly of Burlington Junction, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2013 in Pflugerville, Texas.

He was born August 31, 1943 to Pete and Bernadean "Sally" (Dew) Shipley in Maryville, Missouri.

John was a 1961 graduate of West Nodaway High School.

He was blessed with two sons, (John) Aaron and Timothy Shipley.

Throughout his life John dedicated his time to being a minister, chaplain, and social worker. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and working on tractors.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Maria, of the home; sons, (John) Aaron Shipley, Plano, Texas, and Timothy Shipley (Nancy), Maryville; grandson, Renner Shipley; sisters, Eloise Carpenter (Richard), Nancy Quinn, Jean Peterson (Charles), Gail Russell, Doris Stevens (Larry), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, United Methodist Church in Burlington Junction.
