  • Northwest Missouri State's women's tennis team made its homecourt debut Thursday afternoon with a 6-3 loss to Central Oklahoma in a matchup of regionally ranked teams at Frank Grube Courts.
    The Bronchos (7-1) beat Northwest (3-3, 1-1) in two of three doubles matches and four of six in singles.
    Two of Northwest's three wins came in matches involving Camila Quesada.
    At No. 1 singles, Quesada rallied from a one-set deficit to beat Antonella Rossini 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Earlier in the day, her and Alexis Bartek outlasted Rossini/Rose Cabato in a thriller at No. 1 doubles 9-8.
    Gisela provided Northwest's only other win, beating Laura Klingert 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (10-5) at No. 4 singles.
    Natalia Galindo (No. 2), Bartek (No. 3), Stephanie Mannix (No. 5) and Emily Hoffman (No. 6) each lost in straight sets. Only Bartek took more than four games off her opponent.
    Galindo and Font lost their No. 2 doubles match to Petra Pesic/Alina Gorina 6-8. Hoffman and Mannix fell short of Klingert/Ilga Racika-Racko 4-8 at No. 3.
    Northwest is back in action today at 10 a.m. to host East Central (Okla.).
