NW's Riveros selected as MIAA Player of the Week

Northwest Missouri State freshman Alvaro Riveros earned MIAA Men's Player of the Week honors Monday.

Riveros improved to 4-0 on the season with a dominating 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles. Riveros also claimed a No. 3 doubles win to help the Bearcats roll past UMSL 8-1.

Riveros is also 3-1 on the season in doubles action as Northwest has won its last two matches, both over top 10 regional teams.

The 6-1 freshman is a native of Heredia, Costa Rica where he attended Santa Cecilia High School.
