  • BOIL ADVISORY UPDATE
Maryville, MO – The City of Maryville issued a Boil Advisory Monday night as a precautionary measure against contamination reaching the water system via back-siphoning.
The northern and southwestern sections of town experienced low pressure for a brief period of time. System pressure was restored late last night and anyone experiencing continued low pressure should call the Maryville Water Plant at 660-562-3713. The City takes the health and well-being of its citizens seriously and therefore issued the precautionary advisory.
Proper bacteria testing of the water is required before lifting the boil advisory. Tests will be taken Tuesday morning and delivered to a lab in St. Joseph, Missouri for further analysis. Results are expected Wednesday afternoon or possibly Thursday morning.
It is anticipated the boil advisory will be lifted upon receipt of these results. Public Water Supply District No. 1 (rural water) did not issue an advisory Monday night, as they did not report severe pressure loss.
