The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Conservation Federation of Missouri expect more than 1,300 student archers from around the state to compete in the National Archery in the Schools Program's state tournament March 23 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
Archers who shoot a qualifying score will earn a spot at the NASP world championship meet June 28-30 in St. Louis.
MoNASP provides archery programs to students in fourth through 12th grade. More than 58,000 Missouri young people from 266 schools participate.
Participating school districts in the Maryville region include Nodaway Holt R-VII and North Andrew R-6.
