Billie Jean Wilmes

Billie J. (Young) Wilmes, 86, Excelsior Spring, Mo., passed away January 21, 2013.

She was born September 6, 1926, in Bedford, Iowa, to Archie and Hazel Youn. She grew up in Maryville where she attended school and was a 1944 graduate of Maryville High School.

She was married to Frank Wilmes in August 1946 in Kansas City, Mo. They were parents of three children, Debra, Richard and Stacey. They lived in the Kansas City area and raised their children.

She loved her children, grandchildren and family, and it gave her great happiness to spend time with them. She had a wonderful love of life and also had a great love for all animals.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Frank, children Debra Richard and Stacey, sister Vickie Thomas and brother Terry Young.

She is survived by her brother Jack (Barbara) Young, grandchildren, Rick (Jennifer) and Trevor. Great-grandchildren Kaylee and Tyler, as well as other family and friends, including brother-in-law Pat (Sherrie) Thomas and family, and Susie, Jake, and Jaxen Gibson, Kansas City, Mo. Sister-in-laws Maxine Moran and Virginia Summa, Maryville, Mo. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation was Monday, February 4 at D. W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel, a celebration of life followed.
