In order to raise money for the American Heart Association, several male faculty members at Eugene Field Elementary School agreed to make something up for their students — themselves.
Jars for each of the men were set out so that students could fill them with spare change. The faculty member associated with the jar containing the most money was to wear red lipstick for a day.
Assistant Principal Brian Lynn "won," but the other contestants, Joe Masciovecchio, Joe Suchan and Mike Nolde, volunteered to wear lipstick as well.
The contest, which began last week as part of a district-wide fundraising effort by R-II schools, raised $117 for the Heart Association.
Another AHA event, a "Red Out," is planned for Maryville High School on Friday.
