Students at Maryville High School are geared up and ready to go for Courtwarming 2013.
MHS Student Council President Baylee Scarbrough said that students from all classes put their heads together to come up with activities for the week, which began Tuesday with America Day.
Events at the high school campus included a bake sale to raise money for the upcoming Polar Plunge, a fundraiser for Special Olympics.
Today is Couples Day at MHS, when pairs of students will dress as twins or famous couple.
Thursday will be Costume Day, basically Halloween all over again, and students are encouraged to wear costumes that fit the school's dress code.
Perhaps the most interesting event will occur on Friday.
All girl students will get a "hush button" pin when they get to school in the morning.
They will not be allowed to talk socially to any boy throughout the day, and if they do the boy will take their pin and wear it for the rest of the day.
A pep assembly will take place Friday around 2 p.m. Parents are invited to attend, but the school reminds all visitors to check in at the main office for a visitor's badge before heading to the gymnasium.
The Courtwarming/Valentine's Day dance will be from 9 p.m. to midnight on Saturday in the MHS commons.
"It's really about school spirit," Scarbrough said. "People love the dress-up days. I think it is a fun way to celebrate homecoming week."
