Third- and fourth-graders from St. Gregory's School were on a roll Thursday morning at Bearcat Lanes as teachers and students continued to celebrate Catholic Schools Week.
About 30 youngsters arrived at the local bowling alley around 10:30 a.m. for an hour of of ten pins, soft drinks and snacks.
Also this week, pupils from Nodaway County's only parochial school wrote letters to seminarians as well as veterans and serving members of the U.S. military. In addition the Student Council hosted a luncheon for St. Greg's faculty and staff.
On Friday, students from various grade levels at the K-8 school will watch a movie at The Hangar cinemaplex, travel to St. Joseph for a skating session and participate in classroom parties.
Though it's an annual event, Catholic Schools Week is special at St. Gregory's this year since both the school and St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church are celebrating their 50th anniversaries.
