  • A two-point first quarter put Jefferson's boys in catch-up mode, and the Eagles never fully recovered in a 43-37 loss to East Buchanan Monday night in Gower.
Facing a six-point deficit at the end of the first quarter, Jefferson closed within four at the end of the third, but East Buchanan's game-high 16 point fourth quarter squashed their comeback hopes.
Nine missed free throws on 20 attempts proved costly to the Eagles in defeat.
East Buchanan's Brent Schultz led all scorers with 15 points. Zac Johnson was also in double-figures with 10.
Jefferson's high scorer was Blake Meyer with eight points. Kyler Farnan finished with seven. Zach Jermain, who had 32 the game before, was held to six and didn't hit a three.
    Ridgeway 70 North Nodaway 45
Ridgeway ran and hid from North Nodaway in the second and third quarters of a 70-45 win Monday night in Hopkins.
The Mustangs were outscored 40-15 over those two periods, allowing Ridgeway to surge ahead by 26 points.
Ridgeway's two main sources of offense were Joe Longo with 22 points and Ben Rinehart with 20. Mathew Craig finished with 12 points.
Trent Colmean led the Mustangs with 14 points. Also in double-figures were Austin Reynolds with 11 points and Koby Reynolds with 10.
Those three players combined to hit four three-pointers.
