• Rocket boys clamp down on South Nodaway for win

  • West Nodaway's boys put forth one of their top defensive efforts of the season to knock off South Nodaway 43-31 Thursday night in Burlington Junction.
    The Rockets allowed just 14 points through the first three quarters, during which time they mounted a 28-14 lead. West Nodaway (11-7) outscored South Nodaway by four in each of the first two quarters and six in the third.
    The Rockets were led in scoring by Trevor Meyer with 11 points. Jaden Gillenwater hit two three's and finished with 10 points. Blake Farnan had six fourth quarter points to finish with eight. Ryan Evans added six.
    South Nodaway used only six players in the game and five of them scored. Silas Nielson had a team-high 11 points. Mitch Hilsabeck netted 10. Grant Boggs tossed in six.
