• Hopkins, Ball lead CFX past NE Nodaway

  • Receiving scoring contributions from only two players, Craig-Fairfax mustered just offense to beat Northeast Nodaway 28-26 Tuesday night in Craig.
    All 28 of CFX's points came from the duo of Aleesha Ball and Ryan Hopkins. Ball had a game-high 21 points and Hopkins kicked in seven.
    CFX forged a six-point lead at half that was trimmed to one by the start of the fourth quarter. The Hornets outscored NEN 5-4 in the final quarter, enabling them to hold on to the lead.
    CFX finished 12-20 at the foul line, while NEN was 8-18.
    The Jays high scorer was Taryn Farnan with eight points. Dallis Coffelt finished with five points. Kristan Judd netted four.
