Trojan boys fly past South Nodaway

A sizzling start laid the foundation for Nodaway-Holt's boys in a 59-45 win over South Nodaway Tuesday night in Barnard.

The Trojans put up 22 points in the first quarter and finished it ahead by 10.

Their lead grew to 15 at the half, dipped to 11 by the end of the third, but the Trojans were able to close out their fourth straight win with ease.

Eight Trojans scored in the game and three were in double-figures. Nick Patterson tallied a team-high 17 points. Jackson Beattie finished with 13 points and Cody Schniedermeyer had 12.

Dakota Murphy powered South Nodaway with 17 points. Silas Nielson produced another 14 points. Dalton Murphy added six.

Girls

Nodaway-Holt's girls quite couldn't overcome the absence of three starters in a 55-51 loss to South Nodaway Tuesday night in Barnard.

It was a tight game throughout that saw South Nodaway build a four-point lead at the end of the third quarter and maintain it in the fourth.

The Longhorns received a game-high 16 points from Salena Hines and 15 from Ashley Henggeler.

Malainee Hilsabeck scored eight points. Kristen Nielson and LeAnn Walker each had six.

Krysta Beattie led Nodaway-Holt in scoring with 13 points. Jaylee Holmes and Amanda O'Riley had 12 points apiece and combined to make three, 3-pointers.

Frankie Lemar tossed in eight points.

Trojan guards Megan Rosenbohm (shoulder), Kalli Devers (knee) and Darcie Gallagher (flu) did not play.
