Dear Editor,

Never again will we take a good road for granted. Watching Bill New and the Polk Township crew turn this dirt section of Glacier into a good permanent gravel road was an amazing, eye-opening learning experience for us.

Building a quality road is a complex process - not just the bit of grading and gravel we always assumed. The engineering involved in dealing with the hilly terrain, drainage, various entrances, culverts, erosion protection, cables and power poles, etc., is very impressive. The expertise and skill needed to operate that equipment with such precision only comes with much experience and pride for the work.

We're certain we speak for everyone around here using that road in expressing our appreciation for a job well done.
