Patricia Joanne Elam, age 78, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Thursday morning, January 17, 2013, at the Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia, Missouri. She was born on January 30, 1934, in Maryville, Missouri, the daughter of Curtis and Gladys Dawson.
She grew up in Maryville and gradusted from Maryville High School in the class of 1952. In 1954, she was united in marriage to Dean Elam in Maryville. Unto this union two sons and two daughters were born.
They later would move to Independence, Missouri where she worked as a waitress, clerk and a cook. She liked to bowl and play softball and loved her grandchildren very much. In 1997, they moved from Independenc to their home in Warsaw, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Curtis Elam, in 1984, one grandson, Curtis Elam in 2000, one brother, David Dawson, and one sister, Helen Mackey.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Elam, of the home, two daughters, Tonda Henshaw, and her husband Steve, and Becky Lema, and her husband, David, all of Independence, one son, Jeff Elam, and friend Tristi Carroll, of Warsaw, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
