A Ravenwood woman suffered serious injuries Thursday evening when she was accidentally run over by a all-terrain vehicle as it was being backed out of an enclosed trailer on private property.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Marilyn L. Taber, 65, was sitting on the tailgate of the 2012 Polaris Ranger, which was being was being driven in reverse by Harry J. Park, 69, Parnell.
Taber reportedly fell off the vehicle when it hit a bump, falling under the moving wheels. After realizing what had happened, Park brought the ATV to a controlled stop.
Taber was taken by Nodaway County ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville and was later transported to a trauma center, according to the patrol report.
Trooper Dale Reuter was assisted at the scene by the Nodaway County Sheriff's Department and first-responders from Ravenwood Fire & Rescue.
