• NEN boys wins consolation game at South Harrison

  • Northeast Nodaway's boys wrapped up play in the South Harrison Tournament Friday with a 67-33 win over Cainsville in the consolation game.
    The Bluejays held a 37-point lead going to the fourth quarter and were up 43-15 at the half. They scored 29 of their 43 first half points in the second quarter.
    NEN had three in double-figures led by Aaron Patton with 19 points. Max Giesken scored 12 points and Joel Scroggie had 10.
    Patton hit three of the team's four three's.
    Girls
    Northeast Nodaway hung tough with North Harrison before fading in the second half of a 42-23 loss in the consolation game of the South Harrison Tournament Friday in Bethany.
    Up just four at the half, North Harrison outscored NEN 27-12 in the second half.
    NEN scored seven points or fewer in all four quarters.
    North Harrison's Bailey Perkins scored a game-high 13 points. NEN was led by Claudia Wiederholt with seven points. Taryn Farnan and Jill Spire each had six.
