Trojans blow out Tarkio for third place
Matched up against Tarkio for the second Friday in a row, Nodaway-Holt's boys were far more decisive in a 62-34 win in the third place game of the Fairfax Tournament.
Nodaway-Holt, who won by nine last time, amassed a 32-7 halftime lead and shut Tarkio out in the first quarter.
The Trojans padded a 20 point lead in the fourth, outscoring Tarkio 20-12.
Nodaway-Holt fielded a balanced attack with three in double-figures and hit five three's. Derek Lemon led the Trojans with 16 points. Jackson Beattie finished with 15 points and Nick Patterson had 12.
Patterson and Lemon each hit two three's. Beattie sank one.
Derek Rohlfson scored 10 points to lead Tarkio.

The Savages held down the high-octane Rocket offense most of the night to win the consolation game of the Fairfax Tournament Saturday.
Savannah outscored West Nodaway 17-12 in the second quarter to lead by five at the half, and the Rockets were unable to mount a second half rally.
Levi Lammers led Savannah with 12 points. West Nodaway was led by freshman Jaden Gillenwater with 16 points. Jonathon Madere and Trevor Meyer each had eight points.
Gillenwater made the team's only two three's.
Up 11 at the half, Tarkio held off a second half charge from North Nodaway to win the third place game of the Fairfax Tournament 50-42 Saturday night.
The Mustangs outscored Tarkio 11-4 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to four, but the Indians got it going again offensively in the fourth quarter and were able to double their lead.
Both teams hit five three-pointers in the game.
Tarkio's Abby McEnaney knocked down three and scored 20 points. Emily Graves had a team-high 21 points. Blake Erickson added eight.
North Nodaway's Cambry Schluter led all scorers with 24 points and connected on four from long range. Erin Greeley and Leslie Birkenholz each had six points.
